Yes...the non tattooed people spend alot of time giving a shit what you've done to your body. Here's something that some tattooed people should think about.
It's unoriginal. Everyone is doing it. People's moms are getting them. People in other cultures have been getting them for centuries.
Its not great art. There are only a few people out there doing anything different or new, or pushing their art form to the next level.
No one actually gives a shit.
Colour me unimpressed.
ReplyDeleteSo what if the idea of getting a tattoo is unoriginal.... I have my ears pierced, wear makeup, rings, necklaces, hats etc.... everyone else does that too. If you do things for the sake of being original, you're just trying too hard. If you do/wear something that you like because you like it then that's all that matters. If it happens to be original in someone's eyes then I suppose that's just a bonus.
Why does a tattoo need to push the art form to the next level? It's great to have those people, but don't condemn those who are content with where it is right now... at one time the current state WAS the next level.
oh and another thing.....come home soon, dammit.
hey, i've got a tattoo, i'm going to get another. But you can't act like youre doing something special, or that you're part of a special group or that people owe you something if you've got a tattoo. Or are covered in them.
ReplyDeletePeople always judge based on looks. It has less to do with what you've done and more to do with how different you've made yourself. Having a full sleeve these days doesn't make you that different anymore.
Get a tattoo on your face and you're pushing the boundries of what's normal. And people will judge, but they really don't care that much any more.
I think all art forms need to push the boundries. A guy I know of, from Sacred Temple Tattoos in NS is one of the best portrait artists I've ever seen. He's pushing the boundries. That's all I'm saying.
